Brand new Frontier Airlines Airbus A320neo on its second day of service:

I had to actually get up and drive to the airport for this one...so much effort  A.net accepted it in only 4 minutes.

Finally snagged "Most West Coast"...which has spent most of its time going from California to Hawaii.

Nice catch Cary. I still find it very strange that is has no "Alaska Airlines" titles at all and that they left the tail plain White.

I lately used my access to the cargo / general aviation area to get a couple of shots on the first nice day since quite a while:

Always a treat this nice 747-8i

Air Canada new Version:

Air Canada old version (unfortunately due to a last-minute aircraft change we missed the new coloured 77W on its first revenue flight)

Nice classic 737 that was indeed a surprise to me. As much as I appreciate FR24 and all the online timetables / Forums with exact registrations / times it makes our hobby rather predictable. And sometimes I miss the old days when I just turned up at the airport and all of a sudden something really cool appeared.

The usual heavy takeoff for the LH 380:

Gulf AIr's 320 shining in some nice light:

Very nice set, Julien! LY-KLJ is an especially good catch.

And yes, I've been wondering about the blank tail. The same white tail showed up in the renderings of the Alaska/Virgin America SF Giants special. I feel like they held off on putting Alaska Airlines markings on these until the brands merged.

Thanks Cary...

By the way, that one is an awesome catch:

I've never even heard of that airline. Great light and lovely blue sky, too!

Thanks Julien...yes, I was very happy to get it, and with snow reflections, too. Most people in the US haven't heard of Sierra Pacific, either :) It's a very small charter company (mostly college sports and military) with only 3 planes (a 737-200 and two 737-500s). They used to have at least one other 737-200.

First 767 for Northern Air Cargo...perfectly-timed for my trip to MIA:

And the first upload of this plane (along with my shot) weren't given a banner news entry, while the fake news "New Paint for PrivatAir" mentioned in another thread was. Come on. An all-737 cargo carrier who adds a 767 in full colors to its fleet is pretty significant news.

This goes to show the inconsistency with what is made newsworthy and what is not. They made a banner post for the first A321NEO for Interjet. How can the first of one equipment type for an airline be banner news while the first of an equipment type for another airline not be?

Well I don't get it neither, but unfortunately the news section is handled almost as unprofessionally as the social media accounts.

It goes inline with some other interesting stuff not getting a banner. Whereas every 737max gets the full fanfare, and honestly in those cases where the Airline operated 737s before I couldn't care less, as from the exterior there is almost 0 difference.

And now 2 almost identical shots of the (very nice) Qantas Special 787 get social media posts within a few hours. Ah yes...other newsworthy stuff gets totally ignored.

For the photographers that try to bring newsworthy stuff to the site this inconsistency is totally frustrating. Also it is these shots that bring viewers to the site, after all.

Still: Very nice catch, Cary. This 767 looks great!

Thanks Julien! I've been low on motivation in processing my Florida photos...probably have only done a dozen or so :( But I will make a cool photo post on Wednesday night (US time). Stay tuned :)

Nice work Julien and Cary! Three new additions to the database and all priority due to being first of the registrations:

Also this one was added recently. Shot with a point and shoot as I didn't take my slr when picking my dad up from the airport

Sony RX100 M5
I know it's technically a point and shoot, but image quality is definitely not P&S quality. I've played with the Hassy version of the RX100 and I must say it is very nice.
