Not much going on at TTN these days, but we've had a few Malta-registered VistaJet Globals visit this year. Finally got one in good light:

Well, my streak of not being bothered at Trenton-Mercer Airport ended today, when I spotted for 15 minutes after work. I was sitting at the picnic tables they have set up right outside of the terminal, when an officer pulled up behind me. I didn't think much of it since they're always around, but then I heard someone approach me and ask what I was taking pictures of. I told the officer I was photographing the planes and he told me not to go anyplace I didn't belong (or anyplace off-limits), and implied a few people had done so recently. I reassured him I wouldn't and that I'm there all the time, and he let me do my thing. But he drove away, came back, and parked right behind me as I was taking pictures, only driving off as I was leaving. The encounter wasn't that bad, but still, you'd think everyone would know me by now, seeing how I've been doing the same thing at that spot for over 20 years.

Anyway, I went to get a NetJets Challenger (don't laugh), but that failed when tower had him back-taxi to avoid a Frontier who had just pushed back and was blocking the taxiway. But then I heard a foreign pilot call ground and figured it might be a Spanish Global Express that landed the night before. It was, and I caught it making a pretty steep climbout.

Nice shot, Cary I love the lightning / steep takeoff angle.

The encounter could have been worse certainly, but I wouldn't need a policeman standing behind me all the time, doesn't make you too comfortable I assume, even when you got nothing to hide :D

Exactly what happened...my photos are all over the place. I only got about two tack sharp photos that are centered correctly, out of about a dozen frames. A little nerve-racking to have law enforcement peering over your shoulder.

Sorry to hear that, but it would have made me nervous as well...

Saw that Foxy the Red Fox was due into TTN for a two day stint, and to my knowledge and ADS-B antenna, it's never been here (although my database before 2016 was corrupted). Here she is taxiing to the terminal, after landing on the shorter runway:

and I wasn't going to post this one, due to the APU heat haze, but I still liked the scene:

I personally wouldn't have been nervous if the police were standing behind me. I would just take it as an extra sense of security so nobody will think to jump me for my camera gear

What's that plane in the APU heat haze in the first picture of 922?

Good question. I had assumed it was this:

But it doesn't appear to be it.

An Elite Airways CRJ arrived from Tupelo, MS today, just as the first clouds from Winter Storm Stella were moving in. The rollout was in blocked sun, but it got bright enough for a decent shot during the taxi by. I assumed it was March Madness related, but it departed to Melbourne, FL, which is a frequent destination for Elite.

As noted in the Trenton-Mercer discussion thread, Frontier has started to bring in regularly-scheduled A320s. Here's Grizwald the Bear arriving today with some white stuff in the background:

Finally knocked a plane off my wish list after about 6 months. "The Teal Plane" is Wheels Up's King Air dedicated to Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month:

It's nice getting some variety with the A320s (so far, at least), unlike the few A319s that repeatedly flew through TTN:

ImageFrontier Airlines Airbus A320-214 - N203FR by AeroPX, on Flickr

ImageFrontier Airlines Airbus A320-214 - N230FR by AeroPX, on Flickr

N230FR had an engine running at the gate (loudly) for what seemed like 10 minutes, before pushing back. Believe it was started with an external generator, but I'm a novice when it comes to airplane mechanics/operations. Luckily, I got a few shots (albeit with lots of ramp FOD), seconds before the clouds blocked the sun for the rest of the day.

Had some unexpected sunshine, so I went out to catch a cluster of three arrivals in a 30-minute span. I forgot how challenging the old Frontier titles are to capture in some lighting conditions.

This week was really great weather-wise, plus Frontier now has two late afternoon arrivals within minutes of each other. I believe this was Bugsy's first trip to NJ:

There was a sizable area of clear sky after some severe weather, so I headed out to TTN after work. Unfortunately, another set of storm clouds rolled in after 30 minutes, but I managed to capture a few frames with a shiny taxiway:

Filtered sun, but this was my first chance to catch a NEO at Trenton-Mercer:

Of course I missed the NEOs big debut to TTN and PHL by a few weeks. Nice to see the large assortment going through TTN for you Cary.

Is it fully 320s now or are any routes still 319s?

Fully A320s and mostly all NEOs now. PHL has had NEOs sprinkled in for a while. I remember getting one (in poor light) a few months ago.

Stubbornly missed this University of Michigan-branded Learjet arriving in great light [saw it flying by the window and couldn't get out in time], so I had to resort to this departure shot:

Image

Of course, ATC delayed the departure by nearly 2 hours [caryluck], so the sun angle was dicey by that point. Some other recent catches include the latest fleet additions for Frontier and Allegiant:
